Visitors to the parish church of St. Wolfgang can expect an impressive concert evening featuring grand spiritual choral music on the Feast of the Assumption, marking the ceremonial conclusion of the KIRCH’KLANG Festival Salzkammergut 2026.

The program spans a wide arc from Johann Sebastian Bach to Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and extends into the 20th and 21st centuries. Featured are Bach's Fuga sopra il Magnificat, Mendelssohn's motets “Hora est” and Ave Maria, as well as his festive Te Deum. With Domenico Scarlatti's large-scale Stabat Mater, Anton Heiller's Fantasia super “Salve Regina,” and Thomas Daniel Schlee's poignant Stabat Mater, a multifaceted soundscape emerges, bridging baroque tradition, romantic expressiveness, and modern musical language.

The renowned Company of Music sings under the direction of Johannes Hiemetsberger, accompanied by Eivind Berg on the organ and Erich Traxler on the basso continuo.
